The NACD NXT™ Recognition Gala recognizes boards that have made transformative efforts and applauds exemplary board leadership practices that promote greater diversity and inclusion. The annual event will take place during the 2019 Global Board Leaders' Summit on Monday, September 23, at the Convention Center in Washington, DC, where the winner in each category (small-cap, mid-cap, large-cap, private, and nonprofit) will be announced. The evening includes networking, cocktails, dinner, and a special tribute to the nominees and award winners.

The evening will be emceed by Soledad O'Brien, Host of Matter of Fact and Award Winning Journalist and Entrepreneur.
Soledad O’Brien moves audiences to delve deeper into the headlines that shape our lives, outlooks, and daily interactions. As the host of Matter of Fact with Soledad O’Brien, she has established herself as one of the most recognized names in broadcasting. A champion of diversity, O’Brien gives voice to the underserved and disenfranchised through her Emmy-winning reporting and acclaimed documentary series, Black in America and Latino in America. O’Brien is also a contributing editor—reporting in-depth news magazine pieces for the PBS NewsHour—and a correspondent for HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. O’Brien is a prominent philanthropist and the founder of PowHERful, a foundation that mentors and funds college tuition and expenses for young women.

The Gala is open to all honorees and NACD members. Attendance at the Global Board Leaders' Summit is not required, but preferred pricing is available to Summit attendees.
